The Pointillist Series
My name is Cynthia Mallory and I am a photographer from West Michigan. My work is composed of close ups of metal, water, wood and plant life. Images are then printed on slightly textured 325 gsm Hahnemuehle Fine Art papers to enhance the depth in each print. Wood and metal subjects are chosen for their natural resemblance to fall landscapes or animals.
The images of metal above are in my collection called the "The Pointillist Series." The series is named after the painting style used by artists to create work using small dots. These close ups reveal the small dents or dots in the metal which resemble this painting technique. Some images have an increase in blurriness to add to the falling leaf look while others only have an increase in contrast to accentuate the colors in the metal.
